Mr. Smith and I hosted a Super Bowl party this year. It was small, just two other couples, but it was fun and I themed it "red" since both teams have red in their colors. I spent the day in the kitchen, and Mr. Smith got to show off his mean grill-skillz. Here's what we served our guests.
Chocolate buttercream cupcakes with vanilla bean buttercream frosting
Pretty red roses for the table
Veggie tray with homemade veggie dip
Jalapeno jelly over cream cheese (it's good, trust me...)
Lemon water (yum!) and wine
Plus lots and lots of beer
) and pretzels.
I got these for the coffee table. I love a white flower... and it fit the teams, right?
The right team won (go Giants!) and we had a fun time. Perhaps I'll host again next year. :)
Oh, I love when I discover other people who LOVE jelly over cream cheese. It's one of my fave appetizers. Yum!
